TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Mr Charles Edward Fagan, British Museum (Natural History), Cromwell Road
Date5 November 1901
DescriptionWith reference to Fagan's second letter concerning the Society's Obituary Notices volume Harrison will take an early opportunity to bring Fagan's request before the Treasurer [Alfred Bray Kempe]. Explains that he cannot of his own authority supply the copy. The publication of the volume is an additional expense which the limited funds of the Society have some difficulty in meeting. The edition is intentionally kept small and no general gratuitous distribution was contemplated. Fagan can view the obituary notices in the Year Book, in which they are reprinted.

Has made a good many searches and cannot find that any book plate was used by the Royal Society other than the arms of the Society of which Harrison encloses a copy [not enclosed]. The bookplate bearing these arms is extant in some of the Society's older books, but it is from a different drawing of the arms than the one enclosed. No book plate is in use now.
