Description | The Royal Society is organizing for H M Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, a scientific expedition to Uganda to study the outbreak of sleeping sickness. Foster has been directed to ask Sowdon if he is willing to take part in the expedition. Dr G Low of the London School of Tropical Diseases will be considered the responsible leader of the exhibition. Sowdon will be in charge of the bacteriological investigation, and there probably will be a third person.
The expedition will last about nine months, and the Royal Society is prepared to provide £200 the scientific outfit, and to offer an honorarium of £200, but travelling and maintenance expenses will come from H M Government. |
