DescriptionThe Royal Society cannot assist him very much in his enquiry on the literature of pearls. There is no mention of the subject in any volumes of 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' from issue 54. Dr Harley does not appear to have published anything later than the paper Lawrence-Hamilton quotes in 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]'.

Acknowledges the copy of Part I of his monograph on the subject.
