DescriptionRegarding their letter of 2 January, enclosing a copy of a desptach from Mr Cumberbatch, forwarding a report by the Professor of Physics at the French College at Smyrna on the seismic disturbances which took place in November and December last year, the report and the desirability of collecting further information of the same nature has been referred to Professor [John] Milne. He has remarked that as the earthquakes appear to have only had a local effect it would not be necessary to take him up on his kind offer.
