TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to the Deputy Master, Trinity House
Date14 July 1903
DescriptionTwo years ago the Trinity House Corporation, at the instance of the Royal Society, granted facilities to Mr W Eagle clark to stay for a month on the Eddystone Lighthouse in order to make observations on the migration of birds. The observations which Clark obtained proved of distinct scientific value. Asks if in pursuance of the same investigation it would be possible for the Corporation to grant permission to Clark to spend a month on board one of the light ships off the south or south east coast, either in September or October. Subject to such conditions as the Corporation may find it necessary to impose, Clark would select one of the 'Hasbro', 'Kentish Knock' or 'Calloper'. Clark is prepared to make his stay on the light ship entirely at his own expense.
