You doubtless intend your letter of Feb. [February] 3 for the Council, at this next meeting on Feb 18. It will be laid before them. You of course recognize that it is not in the power of the Officers of the [Royal] Society to make an alteration in the list of Candidates after it has been formally read in the Society in accordance wuth the Statute.
