TitleCopy letter from Joseph Larmor, to The Secretary, H M Treasury
Date13 December 1904
DescriptionTheir letter of 10 June intimating that the Treasury would be prepared to provide half the cost of printing and publishing the Oxford portion of the International Astrographic Catalogue by H M Stationary Office, was communicated by order of President and Council to the authorities of the University of Oxford. The Hebdomal Council of Oxford has replied and said that if the Stationary Office is willing to undertake to complete the Oxford portion for a sum not exceeding £1400, Council is prepared to submit to Convocation a decree providing one half of the amount of the printing bill in annual installments of £100. The original estimate of £2000 was based on confidential information supplied by Oxford University Press. It might be expected to be done for £1350. The Royal Society request that the Hebdomal Council's offer is accepted.
