TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Edwin Ray Lankester, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date8 January 1890
DescriptionRix has seen Professor James Dewar and Mr Robert Lennox at the Royal Institution, and notes that they must get the apparatus necessary for showing microscopic slides, but that Dewar has said the slides must be ordered from Paris or they cannot have it ready for Friday. He infers from Lankester's statement that he used his own olijective[?] at the Royal Institution, and if so, wonders if it is because it happens to fit their nozzle. If this is the case, Dewar will leave their nozzle for the showing of Lankester's slides.

Rix also asks when he will want to show his slides, and notes that he cannot order anything without consulting Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt].
