TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Francis Darwin, Fellow of the Royal Society

DescriptionThe Council of the Royal Society do not have the power to grant Darwin the volume he mentioned, with the Statutes stating that only one year's arrears can be claimed without the Council's permission, but that a maximum of five year's arrears may be granted. They can be purchased at one third of the published price while 100 are still in stock.

A postscript notes that Rix is sending the five years due, for which he will get the sanction of the Council at their next meeting.
