Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Edwin Dunkin, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 1 April 1889 |
Description | The title was rectified on General Palmer's certificate as previously stated; it has been verified and resuspended in the meeting-room with the proper military title. Rix notes it is not too late to put the correct title in 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' and it comes under Rix's department so will not be forgotten.
Unfortunately, he notes that the clerk did not correct it on the printed list as they do not re-copy the whole of the certificates annually but cut up the old list for resuspended certificates and only copy out the manuscript of the new candidates certificates, and Rix has warned the clerk that more care should be taken in comparison of the proof with the originals, though he has been working under great pressure.
Rix finally states that the work associated with the election of candidates, soirée preparations, Government Grant Board meetings and preparation of connected meetings has all come at once. |
