TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Messrs Annan & Swan, 7 Devonshire Road, South Lambeth
Date18 February 1889
DescriptionRix sends two plates for Captain William de Wiveleslie Abney's paper. The proofs have been passed as correct, and the headlines added. Rix asks that the headlines be in the same style as those on the enclosed spare proof [not included] to ensure uniformity across the volume.

He highlights an important matter regarding indications to be given regarding the sun's axis and the line of the wire in the margin, with the words 'sun's axis' and 'wire' to be written there.

They require 1025 copies of each plate printed on plate-paper as near as possible to the tone of the spare proof. Rix further states that as the plate numbers are fixed, and the order of publications determined, they must produced the paper quickly to avoid delays to subsequent papers.
