|Title||Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to George John Romanes, Fellow of the Royal Society|
|Date||31 May 1889|
I have the unpleasant duty of enclosing to you the accompanying account for a volume which we have purchased to replace one borrowed by you in June 1887, and lost. I am sorry that it is so expensive, but it is only after long waiting and repeated inquiry, that we have succeeded in getting the volume at any price.
