TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Dr Henry John Carter, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date27 June 1889
DescriptionRix is sending by this post Carter's certificate from the Boston Society of Natural History and the letter which was rolled inside the certificate, but notes that they are still unsure as to how they came to be in the Royal Society Library. As Carter's note of yesterday implied a lack of awareness of the certificate, they had to rule out it having been deposited for safe keeping, and instead assume some negligence by their predecessors.

Rix also states that Dr Robert Lendlmayer von Lendenfeld's monograph is printed off and will soon be with the binder. Carter will receive a postcard in two or three days.
