DescriptionRix is pleased to inform him, in relation to his letter of 17 October 1888, that acting on a recommendation of the Library Committee, the President and Council of the Royal Society have ordered that the Lick Observatory be placed on the list of institutions entitled to receive the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society', series A, and 'Proceedings of the Royal Society'. 'Transactions' will be sent by the agency of the Smithsonian Institution, and the 'Proceedings' will be posted to them.

The Lick Observatory's publications are appreciated, and the Society would be glad to contine receiving them.
