TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Sir Henry Isaacs, the Lord Mayor of London
Date13 July 1889
DescriptionFoster is pleased to inform the Mayor that the President and Council of the Royal Society yesterday resolved to contribute 100 pounds to the Fund being raised in connection with the Institut Pasteur, and asks that as they cannot provide funds for purely charitable purposes that it be directed towards the part of the Fund intended exclusively for the aid of the Institut Pasteur.

In a postscript, Foster adds that a subscription list has been opened for private subscriptions by individual Fellows and as such will not be bound by the rules of the 100 pounds detailed above.
