Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, [Royal Society] |
Date | 29 July 1889 |
Description | Rix encloses a memorandum, and asks if the leaves of Mr Bateman's paper would assist in the arrangement of the plate, but asks that they be returned as they are not yet in type.
He has not yet succeeded in getting Mr France's paper started.
Professor Edward Albert Schafer has decided on the Autotype Company for three of his plates, and West, Newman & Company for the fourth, and so these firms are to be put in communication with Schafer, and Foster should soon receive estimates. Schafer has also sent enclosed correspondence and a list of members regarding [Eadweard James] Muybridge, and so Rix asks Foster to instruct Mr James about what to do, namely whether he is to write to Muybridge for the photographs or whether they will come to the Royal Society from America. Rix notes that the subcommittee never met, and he supposes that the final list of plates was left with Muybridge as it was not sent to him. |
