TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to John Evans, [Royal Society]
Date30 July 1889
DescriptionRix explains his dilemma to Evans, namely that Drake & Gorham have stated that eight cells of their battery need to be renewed at once, at a cost of around 31 pounds. He has asked that they delay until the last possible moment, but begin work when it is necessary. Rix hopes that this will not be before Evans returns, and notes that he can stop the work if he wishes.

Rix also notes their improved balance of 1000 pounds.

A note at the top of the letter states 'not to be forwarded'.
