DescriptionWith reference to Gowers' request, he regrets to say that he has no power at all to issue invitations for the Soiree without higher authority but will asks the Committee if his card may be marked to admit a second lady. Has been directed in general this year to say that the Committee have been trying to restrict the invitations list on account of the crowded state of the rooms recently.
