|The Royal Society has this year awarded its Hughes medal to the Ambassador's distinguished countryman Professor Augusto Righi of Bologna for his experimental researches in electrical science. The President and Officers feel this offers special grounds for them to hope that the Ambassador will attend the Anniversary Meeting at which the medal will be presented on 30 November. It is hoped that if Righi is unable to attend, the Ambassador will receive the medal on his behalf.
