TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir Joseph Norman Lockyer, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date17 January 1906
DescriptionHarrison sends thanks for the return of the Lowell paper and illustrations. He regrets that Lockyer does not give an opinion on the reproduction of the figures. He explains the various causes of the delays to the paper's progress, and consequently states that the secretaries are anxious to publish the paper without the delays that would be incurred by returning it to the author, especially as, in line with Lowell's suggestion, they were prepared in collaboration with Mr Wesley of the Astronomical Society and Lowell seemed happy not to be consulted further. Unless Lockyer, as communicator of the paper, has strong views to the contrary, they will progress with the paper as it stands.
