Date19 January 1906
Description'Dear Professor Langley,
It is my pressing duty to inform you that the Coucnil at its meeting yesterday unanimously resolved to invite you to give the Croonian Lecture this year. We understand that the very important researches on which you have been engaged for some time past are probably in such an advance state as to permit you to give an account of them to the Society.
Yours very truly,
Arch [Archibald] Geikie
Would you kindly send the title of your lecture when you have had time to consider it'.
