TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to the Secretary, His Majesty's Treasury
Date28 September 1906
DescriptionWith reference to the Secretary' letter number 16895/06, of 24 September, and previous correspondence, the Royal Society adheres to the opinion which it has already expressed that it would be of advantage that Great Britain participate in the International Seismological Association for a limited period, on condition that France and the United States also join. Would like to know if the French Government are in concurrence. As the time is so short before the Rome meeting on 16 October, Harrison suggests that if the Lords of the Treasury agree that England should take part in the Seismological Association, their Lordships will as early as possible give authority for Professor Schuster of Victoria University, Manchester, to proceed to Rome as delegate from Great Britain.
