Description | Apologizes for the delay in replying to Arbuthnot's of 20 October. Finds Mr [Walter Hulme] Long was elected a Fellow in 1902 under a special Statute, now repealed, but that he has not been admitted into the Society. Can find no application for an extension of time for admission having been made and granted but with regards to the nature of the engagement which probably prevented Long from attending for the purpose, Harrison thinks the point must come before Council. Asks for a short note from Long asking Council to waive the strict interpretation of the Statute regarding the period for admission. With Council's approval Long would then need to attend an ordinary meeting of the Society, giving Harrison a days notice of his intention to present himself for admission. Encloses a card of meetings for the present session [not enclosed]. |
