Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir Archibald Geikie, Secretary, Royal Society |
Date | 3 November 1906 |
Description | [No enclosures present] Encloses a proof of the draft statement on vivisection as he has had it set up and would be glad to know if Geikie approves of its being circulated to the Council. Also sends Geikie's own corrected copy of the original proof and a copy of Sir M Foster's statement. Has not at present sent this proof to anyone else. Encloses a letter from the Natural History Museum about the Antarctic volumes and Geikie will observe the limited acceptance of his suggestions.
Professor [Joseph] Larmor has left several of his notes with Harrison, made at the meeting on Thursday on the papers read. These are enclosed [not enclosed] and Harrison asks if Geikie thinks these criticisms were such as to justify any interference with the publications of these papers under standing order 38. From what he hears from independent sources, the only criticisms which would seem to have been admitted by the author was that on Mudge's paper. |
