TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie, to The Secretary, H M Treasury
Date7 December 1906
DescriptionThe President of the Royal Society at their meeting yesterday considered the subject of the physical and biological investigation of the North Sea. They think that this investigation, as undertaken by the International Council, is of great value, both from the scientific and the practical point of view. Council believes that the work done by the British section under the auspices of the Treasury has formed an important part of the investigation. It recommends that the work be continued for at least another five years, so as not to imperil an important economic enquiry, and place the country in an inferior position.
