TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Henry Alexander Miers, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date29 April 1907
DescriptionHarrison has checked the list of individuals Miers propose be invited to the Royal Society's Soirée, and has marked those already invited with a red cross, but notes that the remainder do not fall within the official categories of those to be invited, namely Professors, Readers, University Lecturers, College Lecturers, and Chief University Demonstrators in Scientific Subjects.

He asks that Miers mark with a blue cross those he considers to come under one of the categories listed, and then cards will be sent to them, and Harrison remarks that they will give due consideration to any others he particularly recommends. Harrison remarks that Bowman, who should be ranked as a university demonstrator, and Henry Balfour, who has dropped off the Society's list due to his resignation from the Anthropological Institute, should be invited. Women, especially if authors of papers being read, are often introduced to the meetings.
