Description | Harrison notes receipt of Schuster's letter and apologises that the Christmas holidays and other circumstances prevented an immediate response to his telegram. He did not see Professor Joseph Larmor's reply and Schuster's letter to Larmor at Cambridge has only just been forwarded, otherwise he would have sent Schuster's paper as, although the office has been shut, he has been in except for two days on which he took holiday, with one of those being the day on which Schuster's telegram arrived.
He gathers that Schuster did not intend any material change to the paper, and so hopes the delay has not had any serious consequence. He notes Schuster's words about the paper due in from Mr Royds, and also his list of addresses to which he should send any communication he knows of which is connected with the observatories. He sends good wishes for the new year and a successful journey. |
