With reference to your letter of May 13 to Sir Archibald Geikie, I enclose the paper by Drs Glynn and Yorke, which you wish to withdraw. I should be much obliged if, when acknowledging its safe receipt, you would give me the written assurance required under Standing Orders, that the paper is to be regarded as not having been communicated with the Society at all.'
