Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Professor Richard Tetley Glazebrook, Fellow of the Royal Society, National Physical Laboratory |
Date | 29 October 1908 |
Description | His clear and satisfactory letter of 27 October is most welcome. Shall see that the engraver does nothing to the curves unless it is specially instructed, and that the lines are made very faint so as not to interfere with the curves. Understands that Dr Charles Chree is preparing the material on the plan of faint lines while Glazebrook dispense with the scales on the margin. The estimated 43 plates will be engraved as well and promptly as possible as soon as Chree is ready. The Royal Society is anxious that every justice should be done, as it recognises that the magnetic work was the most important in the programme of the 'Discovery'. |
