Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie to Sir James Dewar, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 3 December 1908 |
Description | 'Dear Dewar, The Royal Society has certainly no wish to cut should any important piece of work on which you are engaged. The circumstances are there. Mr Brereton Baker has applied to us for these use of the radium salt for experiments during the Christmas vacation, which I am advised are both important & promising. Would it be possible for you to proceed with you own experimentation of which you speak, with enough to let Baker have this small amount? If this would be inconvenient to you we must try to borrow what Baker wants from elsewhere.' |
