Description'Dear Sir,
Replying to your letter inviting Lord Rayleigh as President of the Royal Society to the Shakespeare Commemoration Service in April, I have to say that Lord Rayleigh has gone abroad and will not be back in this country for some months. Since, however, he has been succeeded in the Presidency of the Society by Sir Archibald Geikie, I am sending your letter on to him.'
