I have to acknowledge your letter of yesterday enclosing notices of the Memorial Service for the late Professor Seeley.
I am directed by the President of the Royal Society, Sir Archibald Geikie, to inform you that he proposes to attend as a representative of the Royal Society, and that he has asked Mr William Whitaker, a member of the Council, also to attend the service in a representative capacity.'
