Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Sir Francis Galton, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 22 January 1891 |
Description | Rix has seen the engraver and learned that in the process of transferring there is a risk of some slight thickening of lines and so rejected that plan. A folding-plate is as likely to cause a set-off as the face to face plan and he therefore decided to bind the plates face to face. In order to make quite sure there is no transfer between the two a loose tissue shall be placed between the plates. |
