Description | In answer to Calcraft's letter addressed to the President of the Royal Society, intimating that the Board of Trade are pleased to approve the proposal that the Royal Society should appoint a Committee for the purpose of investigating colour blindness, the President and Council have in accordance with that intimation appointed the following gentlemen as a Committee; Sir George Gabriel Stokes, Professor Michael Foster, The Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt], Captain William de Wiveleslie Abney, Professor Church, Mr Francis Galton, Dr William Pole, and Mr Robert Brundenell Carter. Should the Board wish to appoint any one to occupy the Committee, the position the late Mr Thomas Gray was proposed to occupy, his name will of course be added. |
