DescriptionIn answer to Brodie's note of 31 March Rix must explain that the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' were not sent to the Fellows, each Fellow had to apply for the volumes he desired to claim. Under the statutes of the Society Brodie has no claim to the volumes of 'Transactions' wanting to complete his father's set, since any claim of the kind must be made within five years of the publication of the volumes.
