Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Edwin Ray Lankester, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 18 September 1890 |
Description | According to the Council Minutes Lankester was the proposer of Mr Alfred Russell Wallace for the Darwin Medal and Professor Newton was the seconder. It is usual for proposers to sign the printed Medal Claims, but he sees that Mr Wallace's claims are signed by Professor Newton. Rix wonders if he may substitute Lankester's name for Newton's so the matter is in the proper form. |
