Description'Dear Mr Campbell-Swinton,
Dr T H Laby, who called upon you the other day is going to exhibit at the Soiree some experiments devised by Prof. Rutherford.
He is in difficult about some cells which he required, and Sir J J Thomson has suggested that you might be willing to meeting his wants, and so help our Soiree arrangements, as you have been kind enough to do in the past. There would be no expense attaching to this assistance.
Perhaps you will send me a line upon the matter.'
