Title | Copy letter from Joseph Larmor, to The Secretary, The Board of Trade |
Date | 14 December 1909 |
Description | Their letter of 20 November on the subject of an International Congress on Radiology and Electricity, to be held in Brussels in 1910, was before the Council. They understand that other countries will be represented, and it will be a chance to make an effort to settle important questions of standardization and nomenclature. They also desire to recall that a very large part of the progress on radioactivity has been down to British Science, and so it would be in national interests to attend the congress.
The Council wishes to appoint delegates, and suggests: Professor Ernest Rutherford and Professor Sir Joseph John Thompson. It is the intention that Committee be organised to assist. |
