TitleCopy letter from Joseph Larmor, to Professor John Newport Langley, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date26 January 1910
DescriptionTheir memorandum on the matter of early publication of papers was read to Council on 20 January. It was explained to Council that the particular instance Langley mentions was exceptional, the delay of two months having occurred in the summer, owing to a misunderstanding as to whether the paper should be treated as physical or biological. They were informed that general practice is in accordance with the first of his three suggested regulations, and the issue of shorter parts at briefer intervals when material is scanty will be more closely attended to in future.

On the whole it is nor desirable to make further definite regulations, although Langley is thanked for his suggestions.
