| Description | Thanks him for his letter on Methuen's offer of his book on the Royal Society. Harrison visited the publishers himself to ascertain the circumstances more clearly. They said that they were negotiating the sale of the remainder to Huggins, and alleged their belief that their offer to the Royal Society was not being entertained. They said they would not take any further steps in that transaction, and would like the Royal Society's decision today. Sending a copy of a letter Harrison has written to Metheun declining the offer, for Huggins to look over [no enclosures]. |
