DescriptionThe Royal Society have received notice of the redemption of War Stock of which the Society holds £3286. 4. 3. on the general purposes account. The matter was reports to the Council who took the view that the best course for the Society to pursue would be to allow automatic transfer to take place. Harrison enquiries as to the probability of this operation, if taking place on a large scale on the same day, advancing the price of Consols so as to make the transfer of the 2 3/4 percent War Stock an unprofitable investment.
