TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Professor H [Herbert] McLeod FRS
Date25 July 1910
DescriptionHarrison encloses a specimen page which he has set up to illustrate the system of arrangement proposed to be adopted for the new Catalogue of Serials in this Library. The arrangement is based upon suggestions made by members of the Sub-Committee which were primarily; an alphabetical arrangement of the first important word of the title; cross references to familiar names. From speaking to other librarians, support for Harrison adhering as close as possible to strict alphabetical order of titles is strong.
It is very desirable that the preparation to this Catalogue should be begun before the autumn session. Harrison will therefore be please to know if McLeod approves. [no enclosure].
Next to letter is a list of names of Fellows with corresponding page numbers.
