Description'Dear Sir,
With reference to your letter of the 18th instant you may safely anticipate the permission of the Council to reproduce the two figures you name for your book on the Spectroscope. The usual conditions attached to their permission are, that due acknowledgment shall be made of the source from which this illustrations are reproduced, and the the consent of the authors of the papers from which the illustrations are borrow shall have been obtained. You will no doubt be quite ready to accept these conditions.'
