Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Major [Leonard] Darwin, President of the Royal Geographical Society |
Date | 17 November 1910 |
Description | The enclosed letter has just reached Geikie [no enclosures] and it greatly surprises him. In the letter [NLB/43/146] which he wrote to the Treasury he stated the arrangements [regarding the National Antarctic Expedition Fund] which he and Darwin had agreed to, and which he hoped the Treasury would agree to. Geikie had heard privately that the Treasury would agree to it, and he does not know how they could change their intention. The letter is so vague it is difficult to see what it means. |
