| Description | Kirkby's paper on 'The Chemical Action of Electric Discharge' was before the Physics Committee again on Thursday, with the report of the referee whose remarks Larmor sent more than a month ago. Townsend's letter of 14 December was read in reply to the Committee, but they unanimously decided to uphold the recommendation of the referees for condensation to the extent of about a half so far as the theory portion is concerned. It remains down to Townsend as communicator to convince the author, if not then the only course is to deposit the paper in the archives. |
