Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Dr A [Aubrey] Strahan FRS, the Tyndall Committee |
Date | 3 July 1911 |
Description | The Royal Society has received from Dr T Llewellyn a preliminary report upon the work he has carried out with the aid of the Tyndall Studentship in pursuance of his investigation into Miners Nystagmus. Dr Llewellyn applies for a renewal of the Studentship for another year, and the President of the Royal Society, and the Biological Secretary (Sir John R [Rose] Bradford) are of opinion that this extension might be granted. Sir John Bradford considered the report Dr Llewelyn has furnished to be a good one, and that it contains the record of valuable work done. It is suggested that later on he should embody his results in a form suitable for publication. In the meantime the preliminary report will be sent to any member of the Committee who desires it, for perusal. In there circumstances the President invites the opinion of members of the Committee as to the desirability of renewing the Studentship to Dr Llewellyn for another year, and proposes to take their collective opinions if generally favourable to such extension, as equivalent to a resolution, without convening a meeting of the Committee; unless any member should think a meeting desirable.' |
