Description | 'The Indian Government want to fill immediately a vacancy among the three Imperial Meteorologists of India - temporarily for a period of five years, in the hope of by that time having a native of India eligible for appointment. They offer Rs.500 a month, rising by Rs.50 to Rs.700 in the fifth year. A sound knowledge of experimental physics or of mathematical physics is desirable, but knowledge of meteorology is not essential; above all, capacity for conducting official and other correspondence is important, as in view of the short period of tenure, time cannot be devoted to training in India. If you have any candidates to suggest, their names and qualifications will be submitted to the Observatories Committee at the end of July, with a view of advising the Government of India.' |
