TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to L L Belinfante, The Geological Society
Date3 May 1911
DescriptionHarrison is make preliminary enquiries with a view to joint action on the part of the learned societies in Burlington House in decorating the front of the building for the Coronation. On the occasion on King Edward's Coronation the societies contributed to a common fund for a scheme of decoration and the total cost was nearly £110. This time The Royal Society already has the flags so the cost should not exceed £110.
Harrison is anxious to present a proposal on this subject at a meeting next week and will be glad to know whether the Geological Society will join the scheme. On the previous occasion in 1902 the Royal Academy of Arts was invited to 'join hands' with the other learned societies but refused to have any part in it.
