Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to The Vice Chancellor, Oxford |
Date | 12 June 1912 |
Description | Geikie does not know who is taking charge of the arrangements for the Royal Society delegates who are to visit Oxford next month, but he ventures to ask that this letter be passed on to the proper quarters. Requests whether ladies are to be included in their invitation. There are at present about 90 foreign delegates, and 20 colonial. Some 30 of these are bringing wives or daughters. Asks if Oxford would like to make their own selection of visitors in concert with Cambridge or if they would like the Royal Society to consult the delegates and ascertain their choice. |
