| Description | 'Your letter of January 8th enclosing a despatch from the Governor of Western Australia on the subject of the maintenance of the Observatory at Perth, was laid before the President and Council of the Royal Society at their meeting last week.
The President and Council desire me to express their regret that the Commonwealth Government find themselves unable to continue the general work of the Observatory, but they welcome the promise that the work undertake in connection with the International Astrographic Catalogue will be continued until next Juen and hope that it may be found possible to complete it.' |
